We have more than 50 years combined experience on our team.

In 2009 I'd been working at another publication when it went into receivership. Suddenly jobless for the first time in my life, I came up with the crazy idea that I could start a new publication and get my colleagues who'd also lost their jobs on board. It was risky to say the least, considering I had the sum total of $35 in my bank account at the time. But, thankfully the Penrith and St Marys community embraced and supported our project, and against many peoples' predictions, we are still going strong seven years later. As well as over a decade experience in journalism, I have in the past been a Licenced Real Estate Agent and a Political Adviser for several local members of parliament. I enjoy every minute of my job, am thankful to have such a great team and, alongside partners Korena and Bart am ecstatic that we have now expanded to two publications - Nepean News and Western News.
Keegan Thomson - Journalist
Born and raised in the western suburbs I feel like the biggest cultural, economical and social changes in this country is happening here in western Sydney, and I'm grateful to be reporting on all of it. I'm a political junkie with a thirst for answers and from time to time I'm a bit of a music nerd. It is great to be working for a paper that focuses on community stories told by local voices.
Stewart Moses - Sports Journalist
Sports has always been in my DNA especially when it comes to Rugby League, Cricket and Football (Soccer). Having lived in the Penrith region for over forty years, it has given me the passion to support and, now through the Nepean News, cover local sport, in particular provide insight into and news from the region’s most recognisable sporting brand, the Penrith Panthers.

I grew up loving everything about writing, and I've always enjoyed telling a good yarn. Since starting at Nepean News in 2014 I've had the benefit of covering elections, local events and a lot of great people. Growing up in Penrith has shown me that some of our most amazing and inspiring stories come from this fine city, and I'm looking forward to sharing more of my content with you all.
Jarrod McGrouther - Journalist
Growing up in Cronulla, western Sydney has always been a part of my life. I regularly attend sporting events out here, being a season ticket holder with the Penrith Panthers. I love the people for their genuineness and easy-going attitude. I’m extremely lucky to work for such a positively focused newspaper and one-day dream of being a chief sports reporter in Sydney.
