Peter Wallace rejects claims he was concussed

Penrith captain Peter Wallace rejected claims he had played on after being concussed in the dying stages of the Panthers' 14-12 loss to St George Illawarra on Sunday.

Wallace appeared to be using a goal post to support himself after a heavy collision in a tackle as Penrith defended their own line after winger Josh Mansour had put the visitors ahead 12-8 with a 73rd-minute try.

Channel Nine commentator Peter Sterling suggested Wallace looked concussed as play came his way in the tackle before St George Illawarra fullback Josh Dugan crossed for the match-winning try three minutes before full-time.

He had earlier crawled back into the defensive line after making a tackle on the Panthers line but the veteran playmaker said afterwards that he had been fine.

"No, I was fine," Wallace told reporters.
